In most projects entrusted to me, my customers ask me to make "luxury" items. I often reply that the term luxury is increasingly distorted and hackneyed through overuse.   After all, what does total luxury mean today? For an inhabitant of London or Tokyo, luxury could mean space, whereas for an American with a hectic schedule, time is a luxury... Personally, I prefer to think in terms of a top-of-the-line, or very upmarket product, a limited run or a rare item. When I work on a piece of furniture, a decanter or another object, I focus on timeless values: purity, simplicity, sensuality, aesthetics, revealing a genuine know-how, a guarantee of quality. I believe in the curiosity of the human being. That is my guiding principle, my motivation and the source of my energy. Curiosity opens new horizons, that serve as inspiration for my work. My life is enriched when I meet people and cultures different from my own, and these exchanges are a source of inspiration, pleasure and discovery. Hence my definition of luxury...
